If you have a condition where you can connect to OpenVPN but when you try to access workstations or servers behind the VPN server you cannot ping them.

This is usually caused by the workstation unable to add the route passed by OpenVPN to the workstaiton. Close down OpenVPN on the workstation and re-launch it by right-clicking on the icon and choose 'Run as Administrator…'
