ClearSHARE

The ClearSHARE app on the server allows the server to provide storage to the Sia network.

If your system does not have this app available, you can install it via the command line with:

yum install app-clearshare

For this app to work your external (internet) interface of your server must be accessible from the internet on TCP ports 9981-9984. This means that if your server is directly connected to the internet then all you should have to do is open the server's incoming firewall. This is covered Firewall section below. On the other hand, if your server is behind a router, then in the router you must either enable uPnP or port forward TCP ports 9981-9984 to your server. This means that server the should also have a Static DHCP Lease from your router, or a static IP on your LAN. See the IP Settings screen to set up a Static IP.

You will also need to set up the ClearLIFE app.

You can find this feature in the menu system at the following location:

Server > Decentralized > ClearSHARE

When you first go into the app, you will see a firewall configuration panel:

ClearSHARE needs to listen on TCP ports 9981-9984, so you will need to allow connections on these ports. The Allow Connections button will do this automatically for you. The Manual Configuration button will take you to the Incoming Firewall where you can configure it manually and the Hide This Warning button will do just that without doing anything to the firewall.

Once incoming connections are allowed, this panel will hide itself.

Until the Sia blockchain in synchronised you will see a screen something like:

Once it has synchronised you will see a screen similar to:

There are no configuration options on this screen.

At this point your server should be managed from your ClearPHONE. However, it is possible to manage it from the command line using the “siac” command. Help on the command and the extended commands is available using the -h switch, e.g “siac -h”, “sia host -h” etc.

If you have enabled auto pricing on your phone, you can have ClearOS send you a report every time the price changes. To do that all your e-mail address to the email line in /etc/clearos/clearshare.conf, making sure you leave a space either side of the “=” e.g:

email = me@privacy.net

If you have auto-pricing enabled ClearOS will update the prices you charge automatically every hour. By default no update is done if the price change is less than 5%. This value can be changed by editing the min-pct-change-for-action in /etc/clearos/clearshare.conf. Do not set it below 1 and if you set it to 1 it will be quite noisy with changes happening virtually every hour.
