B. My friend managed to finish all his homework during lunch hour

C. I had so many customers nagging me at work today, I almost had
to scream with joy.
D. Trying to predict where an electron is in an atom is like playing a
game of whack-a-mole.
The correct answer is option B.
What are allusions?
This literary technique is used, particularly in literature, to indicate an indirect allusion. A passing allusion is a reference that does not explicitly identify a person, place, or thing from literature, history, or any other literary work. Alluding to something is the act of referring to something in a vague or oblique manner. For example, Thomas Nashe in his poem, 'Litany in Times of Plague', gives an allusion to Helen of Troy in the lines, "Queens have died young and fair; Dust hath closed Helen's eye". Thus, in Option B, we can see the speaker alluding Merlin to as a friend who has completed homework immediately.

POEM ABOUT WINTER OR DECEMBER
Answer:
December
by Joseph D. Herron
Child of the grand old winter,
December floateth by;
And the ground without is bare and white
As the moon in the cloudless sky.
The wind blows cold and dreary,
Across the whitened plain;
And we see the oaks with their branches bare,
Through the frost on the window pane.
But within where the yule-log's burning,
Each heart is happy and gay;
For the loving Prince of earth and Heaven,
Was born on Christmas day.
Then hail! grand old December,
We welcome you once more!
For the memory sweet of a night you bring,
That came in the days of yore.
Explanation:
As the sky turns grey
and the birds fly south
Flakes fall down from the sky
Close your eyes and listen
Feel the the winter coming
When winter arrives
hear the laughs of children
Hear the cracks of ice
Feel the cold touch your skin
Your cheeks go bright red
Hands as cold as ice
But such a wonderful sight

To survive is to continue to live or exist, typically in spite of an accident, ordeal, or
difficult circumstances. To survive, individuals must sometimes change and adapt to their
environment. Survival is one of the main themes in the novel A Long Walk to Water by Linda
Sue Park. The main characters, Nya and Salva, both experience difficult circumstances. In the
novel, Park uses the stories of the two main characters to show the mental, emotional, and
physical challenges that occur when struggling to survive.
In the novel, A Long Walk to Water, one of the main characters, Salva, was forced to
leave his home due to the Sudanese Civil War. He went on a difficult journey through the desert
on his way to a refugee camp. On his journey, he faced challenges such as limited food and
water, hungry lions, and losing people close to him. Despite the many obstacles Salva faced, he
kept going. Park writes, “Salva would think of his family and his village, and he was somehow
able to keep his wounded feet moving forward, one painful step at a time” (Park 54). This quote
shows how Salva managed to survive his challenging circumstances and physical pain by staying
positive and focusing on what was important to him.
The other main character, Nya, also had to face struggles while trying to survive in
Southern Sudan. Nya had to walk many hours each day to get water for her and her family. The
water she collected was not always clean and safe which caused her family members to become
sick. Seeing her sister fighting for her life because of dirty water became an additional emotional
Last Name 1
challenge for Nya. Her long and tiring journey to get this water became a part of her daily
routine, and it became a necessary part of survival. Park writes “Nya would now make her
second trip to the pond. To the pond and back -- to the pond and back -- nearly a full day of
walking altogether. This was Nya’s daily routine seven months of the year. Daily. Every single
day” (Park 20). This quote shows how the struggle to survive became a part of Nya’s everyday
life. She was forced to adapt her daily routine to make time to collect the water necessary for her
and her family’s survival.
The struggle to survive and adapt to changing circumstances is something that impacts
many people. In the novel, Salva has a close relationship with his uncle. His uncle acts as a
leader to Salva and their entire group. He acts as a support system and helps Salva through
difficult moments. When he eventually passed away this caused Salva great pain, but he was
eventually able to become a leader and help others the way his uncle had. I can relate to Salva’s
experience of losing his uncle. When I was younger, I had a close relationship with my
grandmother. She acted as a leader and support system for me and my little sister. She was the
glue that held our family together. When she passed away, I was devastated. I did not know what
to do, just like Salva. Eventually, after a lot of time, I was able to heal and work on becoming a
leader and support system for my little sister just like my grandmother was to me. Salva realized
that he needed to help others the way his uncle had helped him, and I realized that I needed to
love and support my sister the way my grandmother had done for me.
To survive is to make changes and adapt to the environment around you. Salva was
forced to adapt to life without his uncle and to become a leader for his people. Nya was forced to
adapt her daily routine to make time for the long walk to get water each day. Even when life
presents people with challenges, they must continue to live and exist in their changing world.
Last Name 1
This is something I and many have faced. For me, it was losing someone close to me but life can
present challenges in many forms. All you can do is keep moving forward.
Answer:
Time and again Salva stands on the precipice of despair and chooses the force of hope to pull himself back. At first, hope burns brightly as he makes plans to find his family, but, overwhelmed by the struggles of his journey, hope seems to fade. Crushing blow after crushing blow threatens to snuff out the tiny sparks of hope that flicker throughout Salva’s story, but he refuses to let despair defeat him. Years later, the spark of hope that Salva has always carried comes alive in the joyful reunion with his father.
In contrast, Park does not tell us much about Nya’s specific hopes. Instead, her hope is fundamental: a hope that the things she does will help her family to survive. When the men come to her village, Nya initially thinks their efforts to drill water are hopeless. After all, she is still walking to the pond, twice every day, as always. She does not realize, or even allow herself to hope, that things are about to change. From her experience, they never have in the past. But, when clean water gushes from the well, Nya, for the first time, experiences hope for all the good things now possible.

Passage 1:
When President Kennedy vowed in the early 1960s that America would put a man on the moon, few could have dreamed that it was actually possible. But on a humid July night in 1969, I sat with my parents in front of the television, glued to the images of an astronaut bounding around on the lunar surface in front of an American flag. That night, I walked outside and looked up at the moon, which suddenly felt so close. Then I turned my head slightly to the nearest star. What was next? I thought. Everything out there suddenly seemed close enough to touch, and in that moment anything was possible.
Passage 2:
It has been 68 days since we left the shores of Europe aboard the Mayflower, and there have been many moments when I was sure all hope was lost. Great storms rolled upon us with no warning at least a dozen times, and when sickness spread across the ship, most of us felt that we would never see solid ground again. But now on the shores of this new land, with the past at our backs and a new life ahead of us, it feels as if anything is possible. It is November, so first we must build a home. Then, perhaps we will move westward and see what else this great land has to offer.

What is a violin? The violin, commonly known as a fiddle, is a wooden chordophone (string instrument) in the violin family. The body of most violins is made of hollow wood. The violin typically has four strings (although some can have five), is usually tuned in perfect fifths with the notes G3, D4, A4, and E5, and is most frequently played by drawing a bow across its strings.
As a result, it is the smallest and highest-pitched instrument (soprano) in the family that is used regularly. Additionally, it may be played by pinching the strings with the fingers (pizzicato), and in some circumstances, the wooden side of the bow can be used to strike the strings (col legno).
The violin is a crucial instrument in many different types of music. They are most prevalent in the Western classical heritage, both as solo instruments and in groups ranging from chamber music to symphonies. In addition, violins play a significant role in a number of folk music genres, such as jazz, country, and bluegrass.
Some styles of rock music and jazz fusion employ electric violins with solid bodies and piezoelectric pickups, with the pickups connected to instrument amplifiers and speakers to generate sound.

Do you agree or disagree that the greeting of "Merry Christmas" could offend those who observe other holidays?
agree.
Explanation:
usually it's best to ask someone what their beliefs are. while a lot of people dont get offended, some do. in situations where you're in public being nice to someone, and you say merry Christmas, theres usually no time to start a conversation and ask what their beliefs are but in situations where you know the person, or are trying to get to know them, or even having a conversation with them, its best to ask before you say the phrase to someone that observes another holiday. a lot of people try to push their beliefs on others and others are very passionate about what they believe and/or celebrate so its easy to see "merry christmas" the wrong way when you don't celebrate it.
