Domain Transfer
There are two types of domain transfers: full transfers and DNS only transfers. It is important that you understand the difference between these two transfers.
Full Transfers
If you want to manage all aspects of your domain in one place, then a full transfer to ClearCenter is the solution. Domain tools in your account include registration, renewals, contact information, and billing. Full transfers include the following services:
Transferring your domain has its advantages – The Full Transfer from your old registrar (e.g. register.com, Verisign) is $25 per domain and includes a 12-month extension to your domain's current expiry date. There is a $25 annual fee to maintain each domain.
DNS Only Transfers
The DNS only transfers are recommended if you prefer keeping your current domain registrar. DNS Only Transfers include the following services:

Activation
You will be notified via email when your transfer is complete. Charges for domain transfers will only be processed after the domain has been successfully transferred.
Additional Notes
For successful transfers, the domain expiry will be extended by one (1) year
ClearCenter cannot transfer domains that are On Hold or Past Due with the current registrar. Begin the registrar transfer process at least three to four weeks before the expiration date of the domain.
Before attempting to transfer a domain, make sure that the
Admin Contact Email for the domain to be transferred is valid. If the
Admin Contact Email address listed in the current
Whois info is no longer valid, you must contact the original registrar to request it be changed.
To check that status of your domain, login to your login to your
ClearCenter account, click on <navigation>
DNS|Internet Domain Services|Transfer</navigation> in the menu. Enter your domain to lookup and click
Submit to view the transfer status.
Provided the status of your domain allows for transfers, complete the domain's owner/admin information on the form that is presented after the check status has been done.

Add/configure your
DNS records
Once your order has been submitted, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the domain's current Admin Contact from our domain partner - OpenSRS/Tucows. This confirmation e-mail contains instructions and a unique web link to accept/deny the transfer request. For .biz/.info TLD's, you will also be required to provide an authorization code that was issued on the original registration of the domain.
Once the Admin Owner approves the transfer, the transfer will usually complete in 3-5 days, but could be as long as 9. You can speed this up by contacting the original registrar and specifically requesting that they approve the transfer.
DNS Only Transfers
DNS Only Transfers work for all domains. To use the DNS Only Transfer, you must change the DNS servers associated with your domain (see DNS servers listed below). Contact your domain's current registrar for details. You should configure all of your DNS records in your ClearCenter account before you make the changes with your domain's registrar. This will guarantee that your domain will be available during the transition.

Depending on the top-level domain (for instance .com), it may take anywhere from 5 minutes to 24 hours for the
DNS transfer to complete.
